CPS Lady Gators beat Taylor Road 53-24

The Clarke Prep School Lady Gators jumped out to an 18-4 first quarter lead and never looked back as they beat Taylor Road 53-24 last Friday night in Grove Hill.

Corrie Allen led all scorers 27 points, plus she had seven rebounds, 10 steals, four assists and a blocked shot. Harley Horton added 12 points, seven rebounds, two steals and an assist.

In the junior high game the junior Lady Gators lost 35-25.

Horton had 17 points to lead CPS. Andrea Bagley added five points.

Last Thursday the Lady Gators lost 29-24 to Jackson Academy in Jackson.

Allen had 11 points, eight rebounds and three steals. Haley Hill had four points and 11 rebounds. Larrimore added four points. Julie Banks had three points and four boards. Bagley added two points, three rebounds and three steals.

On Monday, Dec. 11 CPS fell 34-27 to Monroe Academy in Monroeville.

Allen led the Lady Gators with 21 points, six rebounds, two steals and a blocked shot.

CPS’ junior squad lost 30-23 in the other game.

Horton led CPS with 20 points, 11 rebounds and two steals. Bagley had three points and five rebounds. Clarke Prep beat Central

Christian 49-26 in the Pepsi Tournament at Morgan Academy in Selma on Friday, Dec. 9.

Allen had 27 points, nine rebounds, six steals, two assists and two blocks. Whitney Larrimore had 10 points and two rebounds.

On Dec. 8 the Lady Gators lost 42-35 to Wilcox Academy in the first round of the Pepsi Tournament.

Allen had 20 points, eight rebounds and three steals to pace the Lady Gators.

Tuesday night the Lady Gators traveled to Canoe to play Escambia Academy. The results from that game will be in next week’s Democrat.
