Hicks Gertrude Phillips Hicks, 83, of Thomasville died Dec. 22, 2006 at Mobile Infirmary. She was born Nov. 11, 1923 in Little River. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church. She was a homemaker. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Jackson, Thomasville, Deborah Johnson, Mobile; two sisters, Irene Gentry, Uriah, Louise Brock, Fairhope; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. The service was Dec. 23 at 2 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Powell officiating. Burial was in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Scyrene. O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Thomasville directed.
Active pallbearers were Rodney Jackson, Cecil Hunt, Michael Johnson, Don Bolton, Billy Hicks and R.C. Walker Jr.
