Mavis Edna Eddins Kendrick, 76, died Feb. 26, 2007 in Mobile.
She was born June 3, 1930 in China Grove, Ala. She was the wife of Dr. Paul Kendrick, who has been director of missions for the Washington Baptist Association in Chatom for 17 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chatom. She was a retired bank teller for Southwest Bank in Chatom.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. Paul Kendrick, Chatom; three sons, Milton (Carol) Kendrick, Marianna, Fla., Ronald (Nita) Kendrick, Montgomery, Russell (Donna) Kendrick, Monroeville; two daughters, Lisa (Ronnie) Smoke, Deatsville, Candace (Dr. Don) Hines, Troy; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren.
The service will be Thursday, (today), March 1 at 10:30 a.m. in the First Baptist Church in Chatom. The body will lie in state for our hour prior to service. A second service will be at 4 p.m. in Zion Chapel Baptist Church on Highway 87 North of Elba, Ala., the body will lie in state from 3 p.m. until the service. Burial will be in the Zion Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. Lathan Funeral Home of Chatom will direct.
The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Caring Hearts Center Building Fund in care of The Washington Baptist Association, P.O. Box 1447, Chatom, Alabama 36518.
Active pallbearers will be the grandsons: Thomas Kendrick, Kris Kendrick, Jonathan Kendrick, Matt Kendrick, Josh Kendrick, Lowell Thomas, David Ebarb and Daniel Ebarb.
Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters: Alicia Kendrick, Christi Register, Laurie Kendrick, Kimberly Thomas, Britney Asher and ministers, wives and widows of ministers.
