Syble R. McIntyre Pugh Sanford, 87, of Chickasaw died May 14, 2007 in Mobile after a lengthy illness. She was a native of Coffeeville. She was born April 10, 1920.
Survivors include two sons, Robert E. (Clara) Pugh, North Carolina, Chester M. (Marsha) Pugh, Demopolis; two daughters, Betty Pugh (Jeral) McLean, Mobile, and Emily Pugh (Mario) Arellano, Satsuma; one sister, Katherine Sanders, Mobile, son-in-law, Dr. Dimitrios D. Kontos, Ft. Lee, N.J.; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; long-time and devoted friends, Peggy and Jack Morris, cousins, nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emily Lowery McIntyre and Joseph McIntyre, daughter, Jeanette Pugh Kontos, a son, Bobby Joe Pugh and a grandson, Jerry McLean and sisters and brothers.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 16 at 6 until 8 p.m. at the chapel of Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson. The service will be Thursday, (today), May 17 at 3 p.m. at the chapel of Lathan Funeral Home also with visitation one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Sanford's grandson, the Rev. Robbie Pugh will officiate. Burial will be in the Trinity Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Robin McLean, Richard Hurst, Michael McLean, Jody McLean, Alan Pugh and Kendall Jimerson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeral McLean, Dr. Dimitrios D. Kontos, Mario Arellano, Ronnie Pugh, Randy Pugh, Coly McLean, Casey McLean, Michael McLean Jr., Dalton Haddix, Jerry McLean and Will McLean.
