Loretta Lavetta Hill, 59, a native of Grove Hill and a resident of east Chicago, Ill. Died June 7, 2007 at St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago.
She was born June 22, 1947 and educated in the Clarke County school system. She graduated from Wilson Hall High School in 1968. She received her master's degree in management in 1979 from Calumet College in Chicago.
She was employed with Standard Bank & Trust in East Chicago as manager of Personal Loans.
She joined the St. Peter Baptist Church in Allen at an early age. After moving to Chicago she joined the Peace Baptist Church where she was church clerk and active in other capacities.
Survivors include five sisters, Mary Lou Hill, East Chicago; Shirley (Arthur) Davis, Grove Hill; Chinella Hill, Grove Hill; Annie Pearl Armstead, Jackson; Argirtha (Bill) Bradley, Joliet, Ill.; three brothers, Johnny (Jean) Hill, Grove Hill; Lawain (Belissa) Hill, Montgomery; and Curtis Davis, Joliet, Ill.; one aunt, Nettie Hill, Grove Hill; three uncles, Bobby Hill, San Antonio, Texas; Nathaniel Hill, Mobile; and Eddie Lee Hill, Gosport; three godsons, Cedric Hill, Arlington, Texas; D'Cameron Dunigan, Grove Hill; and Maurice Burns, Cleveland, Ohio.
The funeral will be held Saturday, June 16 at 1 p.m. at St. Peter Baptist Church in Allen with Rev. Matthew Davis, officiating. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service and following the eulogy. Burial will be in the St. Peter Cemetery.
