Willie Thomas Dews, 65, of Whatley died July 19, 2007 at Mobile Infirmary.

He was born June 4, 1942. He attended Grove Hill Methodist Protestant Church. He was a carpenter.

Survivors include his wife, Janie Georjean Dews, Pensacola, Fla.; two sons, Heath Micah Dews, Pensacola, Fla., Ricky Thomas Dews, Jackson; two daughters, Carissa Courtney, Pensacola, Fla., Melanie Lynn Scherff, Carsbad, Calif.; one brother, Guy Dews, Jackson; three sisters, Katie Lou Yow, Ocean Springs, Miss., Elmer Grey Wixey, Grove Hill, Carrie Alford, Thomasville; four grandchildren.

The service was July 23 at 2 p.m. at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Rush officiating. Burial was in the Shiloh Cemetery in Dixons Mills.

Active pallbearers were Patrick Alford, Brandon Gates, Justin Webb, Andy Turner, Alvin Kennedy, Todd Ready, Jason Brooks, Seth Drinkard and Chris Dunagan.


William Rodger Raybon, 55, of Fulton died July 17, 2007 in Grove Hill.

He was born May 6, 1952 in Fulton. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He was a lumber salesman with Liberty Building Products in Grove Hill.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie Raybon, Fulton; his mother, Trudie Raybon, Fulton; one son, Kyle Raybon, Thomasville; one daughter, Kim Wall, Luray, Va.; one brother, Terry Raybon, Thomasville; one grandchild, Brett Wall, Thomasville.

The service was July 20 at 11 a.m. at Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Faircloth officiating. Burial was in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Thomasville. O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Thomasville.

Active pallbearers were Rick Steadham, Randy Gates, Danny Harrison, Michael Nelson, Dennis Drinkard and Jay Harris.

Honorary pallbearers were Clifton Phillips, John Autry, Johnny Doggett, Willard Gates, Bruce Etheridge, Tony Barlow, Alan Bishop, Van Liddell, Dan Jackson and Ken Nichols.
