She was born Aug. 1, 1952. She
was co-founder of Apostolic Faith Church of Jackson. She was a member of the Harper High School Class of 1970.

Pernell Jr., Jackson; five sons, Douglas (Tonya) Pernell III, Jason (Rosika) Pernell, Jonathan Pernell, Victor Pernell, all of Columbus, Ga., Derrick (Lisa) Pernell, Grove Hill; three daughters, Charilyn (Fred) Pernell, Grace (Derrick) Roberts, all of Jackson, JoyAnna Pernell, Mobile; stepmother, Ruth English, Durham, N.C.; six brothers, Joe Brown, Cleveland, Ohio, Roger Scott, Selma, Lennon English, Aliceville, Lucius Turner, Indianapolis, Indiana, Kenneth English, Durham, N.C., Clifford James, Carlton; three sisters, Karen Scott, Angela Williams, Chandra English, all of Durham, N.C.; 13 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mamie Elder English, a sister, Joann English and her grandparents, King and Eliza Phelon.
Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 3 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the chapel of Jackson Memorial Funeral Home. A second viewing will be held Saturday, Aug. 4 at 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral hour at the Mt. Olive No. 2 Baptist Church in Jackson. Burial will be in the St. Peter's Cemetery in Allen. Jackson Memorial Funeral Home will direct.
