He was born July 16, 1918. He was a native of Waco, Texas. He obtained a degree in Finance
from Texas A&M University. He
University of Alabama. He was a United States Navy Veteran having attained the rank of Lieutenant and served during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He had worked for the Alabama Drydocks and Shipbuilding and Harrison Brothers Shipyard in Mobile, Hunt Shipyards in New Orleans for 22 years and Hollywood Marine (Kirby Industries) in Houston, Texas for 13 years. After retirement he began his own consulting firm known as Gulf Marine Consulting. He was a charter season ticket holder of the New Orleans Saints football team.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Coleman Hogan, of Allen, AL; one son, John Daniel (Daphne) Hogan; two daughters, Judy Hogan Cantwell, Charlotte Hogan (Robert) Miller; one brother, Eddie Hogan; one sister, Mary Jo H. Edmiston; seven grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Willie Pauline Rabb Hogan; father, Walter Van Hogan; and a brother, Addie Hogan.
