Tomzie Tucker Calhoun, 91, of Hampstead, N.C. died Oct. 21, 2007 at Corinthians Place Assisted Living Facility in Leland, N.C.

She was born Nov. 15, 1915. She was a native of Marengo County. She was a former resident of Jackson where she retired as a domestic.

Survivors include six sons, Eardie Poellnitz, Birmingham, Tommy (Mamie) Poellnitz, Eight Mile, Roy (Josephine) Poellnitz, Grovetown, Ga., Johnny (Brenda) Poellnitz, Grove Hill, Matthew (Merian) Poellnitz, Huntingdon Station, N.Y., Billy Poellnitz, Wilmington, N.C.; one special son, Rich Hamilton, Mobile; four daughters, Rosia Smith, Homewood, Peggy Poellnitz, Raleigh, N.C., Laura (Thaddeus) Poellnitz-Ferguson, Hampstead, N.C., Mary Poellnitz, Birmingham; 50 grandchildren; 95 great-grandchildren; 25 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, (tonight), Oct. 25 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Andrews Funeral Home Chapel. The service will be Friday, Oct. 26 at 2 p.m. at Andrews Chapel. Burial will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery in Linden.
