Jimmy Ray O'Bryant, 69, of Thomasville died Nov. 18, 2007 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

He was born Sept. 29, 1938 in Gordo. He retired after 45 years as a funeral director and was the owner of O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville and Linden. He was a retired United Methodist Minister. He was a member of the Thomasville United Methodist Church. He was a member of Oliver Lodge #334 F & AM in Thomasville. He was an active member of the Southwest Alabama Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita S. O'Bryant, Thomasville; two sons, Jimmy R. (Ruby) O'Bryant Jr., Jeff A. (Nekol) O'Bryant, all of Thomasville; one daughter, Mary Carol (Ken) Clayton, Thomasville; one sister, Geraldine O. Peek, Leeds; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Logan Mark Sims.

The service was Nov. 21 at 2 p.m. at the Thomasville United Methodist Church with Rev. Phil Craddock officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Thomasville. O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Thomasville directed.

Active pallbearers were Bill Harrison, John Harrison, Billy Phillips, Bob Ingram, Ralph Smyly, Hardie Kimbrough, Gene Overstreet and Norman Loper.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Thomasville United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Church Children's Home or to the American Heart Association.
