CCHS Class of 1962 meeting Jan. 6

The Clarke County High School Class of 1962 will meet Saturday, Jan. 6 at 6:30 p.m. at Gloria's Restaurant for a Dutch treat dinner to discuss its 45th year class reunion. Please attend if possible. For more information call Dot Bell at 334-636-9287.

Home garden, orchard program Jan. 11

The Clarke County Extension System and the Clarke County Farmers Federation will sponsor a home garden and orchard production program

Thursday, Jan. 11 at 10 a.m. at the Alfa Building in Grove Hill. The program will discuss tomato variety recommendations and selection, soil testing, disease prevention/control in common vegetables as well as updates fruit production. Presentations will be made by Kevan Tucker County Extension Agent/Clarke County and James Miles, Regional Extension Agent-Horticulture. There will be an opportunity to ask any specific questions individuals may have related to problems incurred in their own gardens. Prevention Group meets Jan. 12

The Southwest Alabama HIV Prevention Network Group will meet

Friday, Jan. 12 at 11 a.m. at the Monroe County Health Department. You are invited to attend if you are interested in planning, promoting and implementing HIV prevention activities. For more information, contact Maureen Nichols at 251-275-7108.

Democratic Conference Prayer breakfast

Clarke County Chapter of the Alabama Democratic Conference will have its third year birthday prayer breakfast honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Saturday, Jan. 13 at 8 a.m. at the Jackson Steakhouse. Tickets will be $10. You may contact any member of the Clarke County Chapter of the Alabama Democratic Conference for tickets. Wilcox County District Judge Jo Celeste Pettway will be the guest speaker. Johnnie Byrd is the chairman.
