Ringing in 2007 in Bashi
Relatives and friends of Jerry Hawk and Larry Joe Morris gather each New Year's Eve at the brothers' camphouse in Bashi for some good eating and a fireworks show that rivals many municipalities' shows. Everyone brought something to eat and Clinton Hubbs of Grove Hill helped cook vension a variety of ways on the grill. After everyone finished eating, Todd Morris, Shannon Tucker and others set the fireworks off from the pier of the fish pond in front of the camphouse. At left, a slow shutter speed captured a rocket shooting skyward as a red smoke drifted across the pond. Below, the crowd looks up at the shooting fireworks from the camphouse porch.
