Pace

Commer Pace, 83, of Coffeeville died Dec. 25, 2006 at his residence.

He was born Nov. 22, 1923 to the parentage of the late Dube Pace and Lola Fluker Pace. He was a member of Union Baptist Church of Coffeeville where he served as a deacon, sang in the choir and was a Sunday school teacher. He received an honorable discharge from the United States Navy where he was a Seaman First Class. He was a retired logger.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille Williams Pace, Coffeeville; two sons, Thaddeus Wayne (Margaret) Pace, Atmore, David Lavelle (Arletha) Pace, Houston, Texas; two daughters, Christina Maniece (Lewis) Trammel, Nashville, Tenn., Doris (Reginald) Morris, Coffeeville; two sisters, Creola Hickerson, Coffeeville, Nellie (Titus) Blade, Chicago, Ill.; one brother, Super (Arizona) Pace, Tuskegee; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

The service was Dec. 30 at 1 p.m. at the Union Baptist Church in Coffeeville with Rev. Vayton Chapman officiating. Burial was in the Pace Cemetery in Coffeeville. Andrews Funeral Home of Jackson directed.
