Thomasville baseball clinic set for Jan. 20

Saturday, Jan. 20 will be the date for this year's Thomasville Winter Baseball Clinic. This year's clinic will mark the 18th straight year that Thomasville has hosted the event. As usual, the clinic will feature college coaches, professional players, and professional coaches as instructors.

The primary focus of the clinic continues to be providing youth 8- 18 an opportunity to spend time in the company of some of their sports heroes learning the basic fundamentals, techniques and strategies of the game of baseball. Running simultaneously with the youth clinic there is also a clinic for youth coaches and parents who are interested in learning how to teach the basic fundamentals of the game and how to handle and prevent sports injuries.

Registration for the clinic begins at 8 a.m. at Thomasville High School with the actual clinic getting underway at 9 a.m. Clinic hours for participants who are 8- 12 run from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. while those participants who are 13-18 are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The adult clinic is scheduled to coincide with the hours for the 8-12 group.

The costs for the clinic are $10 for all youth participants and $15 for those participating in the adult clinic. Included in that cost are a noon meal and a free clinic t-shirt for the first 300 registrants.
