C-M Gas approves $81 million budget The yearly budget for Clarke Mobile Counties Gas District was approved during Monday's board meeting. Total projected revenues came to $81,458,460. Total projected expenditures were estimated at $81,250,641, which included a three percent cost of living increase for employees and the new employee pay scale. Management team members Al Bean explained that as part of the pay scale program. "There will be a game plan for individual supervisors and each position," he said. He said the program will be competitive and will have step raises and there will also be individual improvement plans for each employee within the next three months. Management team member Tommy Horsley reported he had met with the architects from McKee and Associates on the new office building in Jackson last week and the project is expected to begin in the next 30 days. They are also drawing up plans for an office expansion in Thomasville and are looking for a new building for the Grove Hill office. Charco Incorporated was awarded the bid for the Wilcox County Interconnect project. Their bid on the project was $378,194. Board members approved a rate simplification resolution, which would change the way rates are calculated for customers. According to management team member C.J. Arnold, the actual rates did not change, but the way they are calculated was simplified.
The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 12.
