Holiday showcase entertains all
By Jake Paul

The annual holiday showcase was held in Sage Auditorium Dec. 15 and showed how much talent CCHS has to offer. The program was opened with a poem about the Christmas joy surrounding CCHS by student Karl Dennis. Following were solo performances by Camille Marshall, John Pendleton, Tanisha Pendleton and Donovan Martin. After the four singers, the crowd was mesmerized by dancer Keke Cummings. Teacher Kim Tooks then took the stage and sang a captivating rendition of "Oh, Holy Night." The chorus led by Kwendolyn Thomas and John Conner then sang two songs about the true meaning of Christmas, with solo performances by Tiffany Brown, Kwendolyn Thomas and Donovan Martin. Henry Briggs and John Conner impressed everyone when they orchestrated the Royal Band of Blue with two Christmas carols.

With all of the talent displayed at the show, the most crowd pleasing performance was by Maurice Bettis and Walter Porter. The home-grown talent surprised all with an original rap about the state we call home. By the end of the performance the two young men had the crowd on their feet. For the remainder of the day, nearly everyone was humming the words of the rap.

After all had performed, Mrs. Dennis closed the showcase by wishing all a Merry Christmas and recognizing Kim Tooks, Tamika Robinson and John Conner who spent a lot of time organizing this successful show of talent.
