Lady Gators beat Hooper 42-33

The Clarke Prep School Lady Gators beat the Lady Colts of Hooper Academy 42-33 Saturday afternoon in Grove Hill.

Corrie Allen led CPS with 26 points, six rebounds, nine steals, two assists and a blocked shot. Harley Horton added eight points and 10 rebounds. Haley Hill had six points, three rebounds and two steals. Rachel Mayton had two points and a steal.

In the last weekend of December the Lady Gators traveled to Auburn to play in the Lee-Scott Academy Invitational Tournament.

On Dec. 30 they lost 45-27 to Fort Dale.

Allen had 17 points, nine rebounds five steals and a blocked shot to lead the team. Whitney Larrimore had four points, two rebounds, three steals and an assist. Julie Banks had three points and six rebounds. Horton added two points and five rebounds.

In the second round game on Dec. 29, Clarke Prep beat Escambia Academy 49-42.

Allen again paced the Lady Gators with 22 points, six rebounds, four steals and two assists. Horton had 16 points and 19 rebounds. Larrimore had nine points, two rebounds and two assists. Banks chipped in two points, five rebounds and two steals.

In the tourney opener CPS lost 55-32 to host team Lee-Scott.

Allen had 22 points, eight rebounds and four steals to lead the way. Larrimore had three points, two rebounds, two steals, two assists and a blocked shot. Horton had six points and four rebounds.

The Lady Gators traveled to Mobile Tuesday to play Faith Academy in a huge area game. Friday they host Cottage Hill in another key area tilt. The results from these games will be in next week's Democrat.
