CHS Panthers move to 5-1 in area play

The Coffeeville High School Panthers improved to 5-1 in the area play as they beat the Wildcats of Millry 62-57 Tuesday night in Millry.

Michael Thomas and Franklin Grayson each had 23 points for CHS.

The Panthers beat Sweet Water 53-49 last week.

Jeremy Pugh had 15 points to lead the Class 1A Panthers. Joe Martin added 10 points.

The Panthers also beat area foe Millry recently 71-64 in Coffeeville.

Four different Panthers scored in double digits with Thomas leading the way with 19 points. Grayson added 17 points. Martin had 13 points and Pugh chipped-in 12 points.

Coffeeville also beat 1A rival Marengo 57-51 in a game Coach Gerald Howze said that his team was "able to escape."

Thomas led CHS with 16 points. Roy Brooks scored 15 points.
