Scale Back, Alabama!
Participants in "Scale Back, Alabama!" released red balloons last Thursday at the Grove Hill Memorial Hospital to kick off the eight week weight loss and healthy lifestyle program. Grove Hill Memorial Hospital is sponsoring the state program locally and hospital administrator Doug Sewell said at the kickoff that Alabama is the most obese state in the nation and the goal of the program is for Alabamians to lose 10,000 pounds. Cindy Green, RN, is coordinating the local program and said the program isn't so much about dieting but about eating sensibly and exercising. Weekly programs are being held on Thursdays and interested individuals still have time to sign up. Call Green at the hospital, 275-3191, Ext. 201.
