CALENDAR Washington County Cattlemen meet The Officers and Directors of the Washington County Cattlemen's Association have set Thursday, (today), February 1 at 7 p.m. as the date and time of their annual meeting and steak banquet. The affair will take place at the Community Center in Chatom. All members and former members and their spouses or companions are invited to attend and participate. The annual event will feature a steak dinner with all the trimmings. Chuck Reynolds and his crew of cooks will perform their magic on the steaks again this year. All members are requested to bring their favorite dessert for the dessert table. After dinner, there will be door prizes galore. Diabetic support group meets at GHMH Diabetic Support Group will meet quarterly at the Grove Hill Memorial Hospital. Meeting dates for 2007 are Feb. 1, May 3, Aug. 2 and Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. Diabetes Education is offered at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital by an appointment only. Cattlemen meeting set The Clarke County Cattlemen's Association will hold its annual dinner meeting Saturday, Feb. 3 at 6:30 p.m. at Clarke Prep School in Grove Hill. Dr. Tony Frazier of Auburn University will be the guest speaker. C'ville RSVP will meet The Coffeeville RSVP will meet Tuesday, Feb. 6 at the Nutrition Center at 2 p.m. The Valentine 2007 Sweetheart will be chosen. HIV group meets The Public Health Area 9 HIV Prevention Network Group will have its monthly meeting at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 9 in the Monroe County Health Department. Shelby to visit U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (RAla.) will join the residents of Clarke County for a county visit on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 10 a.m. at Gloria's Cafe in Grove Hill. Sen. Shelby will discuss his legislative agenda for the 110th Congress as well as important issues facing the nation and the state of Alabama. Following his remarks, Sen. Shelby will open the floor to questions and comments from those in attendance. CAC Singing Valentines The Regional Child Advocacy Center's annual Singing Valentine fundraiser will be Wednesday, Feb. 14 from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. There will be singers in Thomasville, Grove Hill and Jackson who will deliver a valentine in song to a loved one for a tax deductible donation of $20 for an individual or $50 for a group. Black History Program Sunflower AOH Church located on McFadden Street in Thomasville will have a Black History Program Sunday, Feb. 18 at 2:30 p.m. The theme will be "...they made me the keeper of the vineyards..."
