Prayer Changes Things
By Minister Lizzetta McConnell

And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone's bands were loosed. Acts 16:25-26.

Prayer changes things, your environment and people. Paul and Silas were imprisoned for doing what they did best, setting the captives free. They were persecuted and mocked for being who they were, men of prayer, men of power, men of God, by a woman who had a Devil in her, but was favored by people; she brought much gain by soothsaying (fortunetelling).

The Spirit in her was speaking truth about them, but grieved Paul and Silas many days, because she was disruptive and annoying them on their way to prayer. Paul turned and commanded the Spirit to come out of her and she was set free from that spirit that caused her to behave that way. As a result, her life changed, her behavior changed, and her occupation changed. Undoubtedly Paul and Silas prayed for her daily when she badgered them daily.

Paul and Silas were persecuted and placed in jail, for setting a captive soul free, doing good. But Paul and Silas know the power of prayer and knew that prayer changes people, environments and situations. They prayed, God heard them and God set the captives, (Paul & Silas) free. If you are seeking change in 2007, prayer is the key to change. Prayer is talking and fellowshipping with the true and living God, Yaweh. Pray until your change comes.
