U.S. Marshal Bill Taylor aids in arrest of second Scyrene store robbery suspect

U.S. Marshal Bill Taylor and federal officers from his Mobile office assisted Clarke County deputies Tuesday in the arrest of a second suspect in the November armed robbery of Garrick Corner Grocery in Scyrene.

Deputy Ron Baggett said that Eric Kimbrough was arrested in the Lower Peach Tree area and a gun believed to have been used in the robbery was recovered.

Kimbrough was charged with first degree robbery and placed in the Clarke County Jail.

A few weeks ago lawmen arrested Adrian Kimbrough of the Lower Peach Tree area and charged him with robbery also in connection with the case. The two men are related but are not brothers, Baggett explained.

Two masked men robbed the country grocery store of an undisclosed amount of money in November and fired shots as they departed. No one was hurt.

U.S. Marshal Taylor is from Jackson and was formerly the police chief there.
