York Mary Beck York, 67, of Jackson died Feb. 4, 2007 at a local hospital. She was born May 13, 1939. She was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Jackson. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her mother, Nora Beck Overstreet, Salitpa; two daughters, Angela McIlwain, Salitpa, Tammy (Mark) Mitchell, Chatom; one brother, Tony (Rhonda) Beck, Salitpa; three sisters, Christine (Franklin) Hayes, Satsuma, Sylvia (Bobby) Powell, Leroy, Shelia Powell, Salitpa; one grandchild, Ericka Phelan, Bay Minette; one great-grandchild, Swayze Phelan, Bay Minette. She was preceded in death by her husband, Waymond York and brother, Jimmy Beck. The service was Feb. 7 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with Rev. R.K. Rivers officiating. Burial was in the River Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Greg Hayes, Michael Bailey, Ricki Lindsey, Bert Pettis, David Snell, Troy Beck, Jeff Chason, Robert Hicks and Brent Gates.
Honorary pallbearers were Thurmon York, Melton DuBose, Mike York and Larry York.
