Grimes Birdie Dawson Grimes, 99, of Loxley died Feb. 4, 2007. She was born Nov. 8, 1907. She was a native of Whatley. She was an active and longtime member of the Loxley First Baptist Church. Survivors include one brother, Roy (Elizabeth) Dawson, Birmingham; one sister-in-law, Dellie Dawson, Jackson; four nephews, John (Debra) Dawson, Indianapolis, Ind., Johnny Ray (Carol) Dawson, Jackson, Jim (Sue) Dawson, California; two nieces, Jeanne (David) Jeff, Birmingham, Lynn Rahn, Miami, Fla.; special great niece, Jessica Dawson, Jackson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Avery Grimes and parents, Mary Benson and John L. Dawson. The service was Feb. 7 at 10 a.m. at Loxley First Baptist Church. Burial was in the Pine Crest Cemetery in Mobile. Mack Funeral Home and Crematory of Robertsdale directed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Loxley First Baptist Church.
