Who you are will make all the difference
By Rev. Dave Rhodes Grove Hill United Methodist Church
All of us have found ourselves in places and situations that caused us to be afraid or u n c o m - f o r t a b l e . Then, a c e r t a i n p e r s o n shows up and everything becomes okay. I remember as a child being terrified of certain places, but when my mom or dad were with me I had no fear at all. As a teenager and a few times as an adult, I remember avoiding a certain event unless; a specific friend would go with me.

Jesus teaches us in John 15:5, "....If you abide in Him and He in you will bear much fruit." This verse teaches us about one of the most dynamic truths of the Word of God. The truth being that in any and every situation God is present with us. What the task is for you and me is to submit one's self to Christ and in faith discern the presence of Christ.

Whatever the situation is, whether it is sickness, financial struggles, or just life changing in ways you did not expect, the key to doing well is knowing and understanding that Christ is with you through His Holy Spirit.

Then life can throw all the "curve balls" at us it wants to, and we can stay secure in the peace of Jesus because you and I will be living in the presence of Jesus.
