Tabernacle Church special

Inspirational Tabernacle Church of God in Christ of Jackson will have a special service Friday, Feb. 16 at 7:30 p.m. with the Prophet D.L. Hughes of Orlando, Fla. Beverly Jackson is the pastor.

Oak Grove special service

Oak Grove Baptist Church in the Chilton Community will hold a special Deacon Ordination Service Sunday, Feb. 18 at 2 p.m. for Bro. Kenneth Mott. All area deacons and pastors are cordially invited to attend and participate in the service. Following the ordination service a reception will be held in the fellowship hall.

Sunflower upcoming events

Sunflower A.O.H. Church of God located on McFadden Avenue in Thomasville will have a black history program Sunday, Feb. 18 featuring Bishop Herbert Nobles, pastor of the House of Prayer Church of Gosport as the speaker. The theme "They made me the keeper of the vineyards," Song of Solomon 1:6.

The Gospel Keyes and the Keyetts of Molino, Fla. will perform Saturday, March 10 at 6 p.m.

Men and Women's Day program will be Sunday, March 11 at 2:30 p.m. The speaker will be Elder Raymond McConnell, pastor of the Glorious Temple Holiness Church of Lower Peach Tree. The theme will be "God created He Him, Male and Female created He them." Genesis 1:27. Elder S.L. Calhoun is the pastor.

New Home supper/singing

New Home Church near Monroeville will have a special fundraising supper and singing Friday, Feb. 23. A chicken and pork supper will begin at 5 p.m. and the singing will begin at 7 p.m. Plates are $6 and carryouts will be available. Featured singers will be "4- Given" and "Grateful Heart." This event is being sponsored by the Woodlawn Methodist Church. Revs. Thomas Smith and Kenneth Johnson invites everyone to attend. New Home is located between Repton and Monroeville north of Highway 84 East, one mile east of the skating rink.

Founder's Day service set

Spencer Chapel A.M.E. Church will observe Founder's Day Sunday, Feb. 25 at 11 a.m. Sunday school will begin at 9:30 a.m. This year's theme is: "Africa Remembered." The attire will be African dress. The service will be followed by a "Soul Food" luncheon. Elder W.T. Leseuer is the pastor.

Pineview plans lay renewal

weekend March 2-4

A team of Christians from other churches will be visiting Pineview Baptist Church Friday, March 2 through Sunday, March 4. These small group leaders will be leading the church in praise songs and testimonies about where they are on their spiritual journey. The main purpose of the weekend is to renew the relationship with the Lord, remembering who we are. Renewal involves discipline in prayer and Bible study, reading renewal-oriented books, learning to understand and to love others, discovering the fellowship of church life, understanding your personal mission and ministry, learning to share faith with unbelievers and learning the discipline of prayer. If you're ready for a deeper relationship with God and a closer unity with other believers, plan to attend the Lay Revival Weekend March 2-4 at Pineview Baptist Church.

Saint Peter celebrates

pastor's 14th anniversary

Saint Peter Baptist Church will celebrate the 14th anniversary of its pastor, Rev. Matthew Davis and wife, Sis. Geraldine Davis Sunday, March 4 at 2 p.m. The guest speaker will be Rev. Ivory James, pastor of the Greater New Hope A.M.E. of Millry. Rev. Matthew Davis is the pastor.

Lily's Pastor's Aide Day

Lily Baptist Church of Fulton will have Pastors Aide Day Sunday, March 4 at 2:30 p.m. The special guests will be the Jackson Male Chorus of Jackson. The guest speaker will be the Elder Raymond McConnell and his congregation from the Christ Temple Holiness Church of Lower Peach Tree. Sister Marie Calhoun is the sponsor. Rev. Wiley McMillian is the pastor.

St. Peter's Pancake breakfast

St. Peter's Episcopal Church, in Jackson, will host a Pancake Breakfast Sunday, Feb. 18 at 9:30 a.m. Following the breakfast, the regular service and sermon will begin at 11 a.m. An Ash Wednesday service, including the imposition of ashes, will be held at noon at the church on Feb. 21. The Reverend Dr. Robert Nichols, III, Priest-in-charge invites anyone who is interested to attend and participate in these services.
