Milstead

Arthur "Pete" Milstead, 79, of Sweet Water died Feb. 10, 2007 at Specialty Hospital in Meridian, Miss.

He was born June 29, 1927 in Sweet Water. He was a retired maintenance engineer for Marengo County. He was a member of the Beaver Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Mike Milstead, Decatur; two daughters, Patricia Ballard, Dixons Mills, Kerri Thompson, Paradise, Texas; two brothers, Henry Milstead, William "Mutt" Milstead, both of Sweet Water; three sisters, Modene Wood, Mary Angelo, both of Beaver Creek, Janie "Dink" Turley, Sweet Water; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

The service was Feb. 12 at 2 p.m. at Beaver Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Sidney Hill officiating. Burial was in the Beaver Creek Cemetery in Sweet Water. O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Thomasville directed.

Active pallbearers were Clifford McClure, Billy Milstead, Harry Wood Jr., Chris Milstead, Brian Anderson, Brett Anderson, Dillon Anderson and Dallas Anderson.
