Welcher

Edna Earle Welcher, 79, of Pine Hill died Feb. 5, 2007 at Southwest Alabama Medical Center in Thomasville.

She was born Aug. 29, 1927. She was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church. She was a former secretary with Alabama Timber Industries.

Survivors include two brothers, Edmund (Betty Jean) Perkins, Pensacola, Fla., Ray (Linda) Perkins, Pine Hill; one niece, Kristy (Tommy) Haynie, Ashville, N.C.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Earl and Mary Celeste Perkins; husband, Roger Welcher, son, Roger Welcher and niece, Susan Perkins.

The service was Feb. 7 at 2 p.m. at the chapel of O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Williams officiating. Burial was in the Pine Hill Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Hank Champion, Kevin Avritt, Henry Champion, Kennon Agee, Rex Avritt and David Wright.

Honorary pallbearers were Luther Spires, Bobby Gibson, Billy Phillips, Wayne Morgan, James Dunn, Harry Mason and Jerry Bolen.
