Beautiful Clarke County
This unattractive picture of deer carcasses was made several weeks ago on the right-of-way of Old Highway 84 near the Mill Pond just west of town. By now, the mess has surely deteriorated or been eaten by buzzards. There were numerous complaints of scenes like this around the county during hunting season- deer, hog and other wild animals butchered and the unwanted portions tossed out for all to see. This is littering just as much- perhaps more so- as throwing paper and other debris on the roadside. Perhaps now that hunting season is over, we'll have a break from scenes such as this.
