Home grown pot- literally

Deputy Joe Allen, Sheriff Bobby Moore, Deputy Jim Mundie and Investigator Ron Baggett show off marijuana plants and other drugs confiscated in recent raid.
Randy Javon Bumpers of Grove Hill was arrested Feb. 20 after a search warrant, executed at his Hebron Road residence, turned up a marijuana plant and other drugs.

According to Investigator Ron Baggett, the Clarke County Sheriff's Department had received a tip that Bumpers had an indoor grove of marijuana.

When officers searched the residence they found a marijuana plant in the bedroom, along with a special watering system, thermometer and alternate light source for the plant, two bags weighing eight and a half grams of brown leafy substance believed to be marijuana packaged for possible distribution, two pills which were determined to be controlled substances also packaged in clear plastic, a small amount of cash and a 12 gauge shotgun.

Officers executing the warrant were Baggett, Deputy Steve Carlisle, Deputy Matt Flora, Deputy Joe Allen and Deputy Jim Mundie.

Bumpers was charged with manufacturing a controlled substance, second degree, possession of marijuana, first degree, possession of a controlled substance and use/possession of drug paraphernalia.
