James Lillie Peoples James, 91, of Sunflower died Feb. 19, 2007 at Washington County Nursing Home. She was born June 8, 1915. She was a native of Barlow Bend. She was a member of Little Sunflower Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. Survivors include three sons, Dan James, Jackson, Jessie James, Sunflower, Samuel J. James, Evansville, Ind.; one sister, Lelia Peoples Martin, Mobile; 37 grandchildren; 100 great-grandchildren; nine greatgreat grandchildren.
The service was Feb. 24 at 1 p.m. at the Mt. Shady A.M.E. Zion Church of Sunflower with Rev. Robert Collins officiating. Burial was in the Red Hill Cemetery in Sunflower. Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directed.
