Tate

John Lee Tate Sr., 53, of Lower Peach Tree died Feb. 23, 2007 at his residence.

He was born Oct. 3, 1953. He had worked for Scotch Lumber Company for 38 years.

Survivors include his wife, Tammie Portis Tate; his father, Silas Tate Sr., Lower Peach Tree; two sons, Decody and John Lee Tate Jr., both of Lower Peach Tree; six daughters, Sharon (James) Gates, Lashaunda, Jawanda, Romekia and Shenita Tate, all of Lower Peach Tree, Lakeshia (William) Weatherly III, Mobile; five brothers, Silas (Carol) Tate Jr., Houston, Texas, Bobby and Cleo (Linda) Tate, both of Lower Peach Tree, Robert (Tonya) Tate, Dothan, Ga., Lester (Jimmie); two sisters, Mary Louise Gates, Thomasville, Linda Kegler, Arizona; two devoted friends, Jimmy Clarke, Sunny South and George Williams, Fulton.

Visitation will be Friday, March 2 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, March 3 from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service hour at New Moriah Baptist Church with Rev. Corey Morrow officiating. Burial will be in the St. Thomas A.M.E. Cemetery. Reese Funeral Home of Thomasville will direct.
