CPS Gators win PA ball tournament
      The Clarke Prep School Gators powered their way past the host Saints of Patrician Academy 11-4 this past Saturday to win the Patrician Invitational Tournament in Butler. Chad Dickinson (3-0) earned the win as he fanned seven hitters over six innings of work.

CCHS Bulldogs split double-dipper
      The Clarke County High School Bulldogs split their pair of games this past Saturday as they closed out play in the Tombigbee Classic. In the nightcap they fell 7-2 to the host Aggies of Jackson. Josh Watford went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI to lead the Bulldogs.

Open Buddy bass tourney set for March 17
      The Monroe County Bass Anglers will be sponsoring an Open Buddy Bass Tournament on Saturday, March 17 at Ellis Landing in Miller's Ferry. The entry fee for the event is $80 per boat which includes a $10 lunker pot. There is a five fish limit and they must be 12 inchs in length.
