Shaw

Jonathan Tray Shaw, 21 of Jay, Fla., died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007 in Jay following a car accident.

He was born Dec. 19, 1985. He was a long time resident of Jay and involved in his community, volunteering 109 hours at the Jay First Baptist Church and contributing over 100 hours to community service. He was also President of Christian World Org. In school he was a member of the National Honor Society, President of SGA, Who's Who Among America's High School Students, Mr. Jay High School, Most School Spirit, Calendar King, Florida's Boy's State Delegate, Varsity Basket Ball Team, Outstanding Students of America.

Survivors include his parents, Becky and Gary Holly, Jay, Fla. and father, Thomas and Patti Shaw, Alabaster; one brother, Vince Holly, Pensacola, Fla.; two sisters, Tiffany Lorine Shaw, Century, Fla., Kristen Holly, Pensacola, Fla.; one step-sister Crystal Vasquez, Phoenix Arz.; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. T.R. Moody, Thomasville; nine uncles, one nephew and one niece.

The service was Jan. 24 at 3 p.m. at Berrydale Baptist Church with Bros. Chip Fox, Bill Goble, Will Rushing and Robert Gandy officiating. Burial was at Jay City Cemetery. Jay Funeral Home directed.

Active pallbearers were Justin, Josh, Jeremiah Daugett, Jason Birch, Josh Cannon, Russ Moody, Dwaine Moody and Ben Moody.

Honorary pallbearers were Justin Prescott, Seth Shell, Daniel Lewis, Jake Nelson, Jamie Nelson, Larry Pearson, Josiah Kemp, Bradley Haverd, Brandon Haverd, Miles Taylor, Brandon Weaver and Paul Goble.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Florida Baptist Children's Home or Camp Winshape.
