Claire Cox does well in barrel racing

Recent visitors of W. E. Smith and S a n d r a included Mrs. Diane H. Stratchan of Robertsdale, Jerry Hare of Chilton, Mrs. Nettie Alday and Mrs. Frances Davis, Jackson, Tom and Ina Williamson of Mobile, Gordy and "Tumpsey" Howard of Tibbie.

Mrs. Twana Williams of Birmingham visited Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Jordan and her father, Joe Cecil Jordan and Karen over the weekend.

Mrs. Lyndal Scruggs and Miss Faye Cotten left Thursday for Huntsville to attend the State Convention of Delta Kappa Gamma. They returned home Sunday.

Mrs. Mary Rascoe and I spent a few days in Montgomery last week with my daughter, Sharon Johnson and Sidney. She is recuperating from surgery on her legs. We returned home on Friday.

Claire Cox is to be congratulated on her winning third place in her division in "Barrel Racing" techniques. Her family, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cox, Christopher and Caliegh all accompanied Claire to Andalusia where the "School for Martha Josey Barrell Racing Clinic" was held. There were 45 youths enrolled. They were taught techniques of barrel racing and horsemanship. There were four classes (age groups) with the winners in each division.

Mrs. Tonia Atchison is recuperating at home after surgery in Mobile.

Katilyn DeMouy of Mobile visited her grandmother, Mrs. Patsy Clanton on Monday.
