Tragic tornadoes

Tornadoes are dangerous, deadly danagerous.

Many of us though do not take severe weather warnings seriously enough.

Last Thursday's killer storms should be a lesson for all of us.

When the weather forecast says there is a chance for bad weather, keep your television on and listen to the radio. Get a weather radio that sounds an alarm when there are reports of tornadoes or possible tornadoes.

Some areas have warning sirens. Listen for them and take precautions when you hear them.

Tornadoes strike suddenly with little or no warning.

In Miller's Ferry, the storm roared in across the Alabama River shortly after noon and people had little or no time to react or seek shelter.

Being cautious, keeping an eye to the sky and acting quickly to seek shelter can sometimes mean the diffference in life and death.
