Scale Back celebration, heart walk March 22 at Grove Hill hospital Clarke County may be scaling back in taking a giant step forward in the fight against obesity. The end of "Scale Back" is approaching soon with the final weigh in on Monday, March 19. Although the competition is ending, the healthy lifestyle changes must continue. On Thursday, March 22, a celebration will be held behind Grove Hill Memorial Hospital at the Cardiopulmonary and Physical Therapy location from 5-7 p.m. to mark the end of "Scale Back" and the beginning of a lifetime of better health. Heart disease is the number one cause of death in the United States. Obesity and sedentary lifestyles are common causes of heart disease. The annual heart walk will take place with the "Scale Back" celebration emphasizing the importance of maintaining the momentum toward better health. Donations will be accepted for the American Heart Association. Walkers may choose to have sponsors for laps walked and may walk in honor or memory of a loved one. One lap measures 0.30 of a mile.
Please join the community wellness effort by coming to Grove Hill Memorial Hospital Thursday, March 22 from 5-7 p.m. With the support of each other a healthier life can be achieved. Local bands and talent will entertain and heart healthy snacks will be offered. The event will be rescheduled for inclement weather.
