Becton Field honors work
Clarke Prep School officially dedicated the high school baseball facility in honor of longtime supporter John Becton March 6 in a ceremony prior to the game with Wilcox Academy. Becton, to the left of the monument, is an avid baseball fan and supporter. He helped get organized baseball started in Grove Hill years ago and school officials named the field for him because of his love of the sport and his contributions to it. The retired banker is pictured with many of his family members. The Gators beat that evening Wilcox 11-1.
