Wilson

Louie Crenshaw Wilson, 91, of Leroy died March 11, 2007 at his residence.

He was born July 9, 1915. He was a native of Clarkesville. He was a man of many trades and talents having worked for the Corp of Engineers, Vanity Fair, was a merchant, cattleman and timber business. He was chairman of the Leroy Water Authority, board member of Farmer's Cooperative, was instrumental in bringing Washington County Hospital to Chatom and Allied Paper to Jackson. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Leroy.

Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Caroline Rebecca "Callie" L. Wilson, Leroy; three sons, Dr. Louie Cecil (Gail) Wilson, Mobile, Ronald Alexander (Merilyn) Wilson, Grove Hill, Larry Watson (Sandra) Wilson, Leroy; one daughter, Julia Wilson (David) Middleton, Saraland.

The service was March 14 at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Leroy. Burial was in the Old Leroy Baptist Cemetery. Lathan Funeral Home of Jackson directed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the cemetery fund of the First Baptist Church of Leroy.
