Singleton

Margean Ida Singleton, 83, of Thomasville died March 11, 2007 at her residence.

She was born Feb. 2, 1924 in Sweet Water. She was a member of the Thomasville Baptist Church. She was a former department store clerk.

Survivors include her son, Hendley Donald (Sherian) Newton, Camden; two daughters, Linda Singleton (Larry) Knight, Debbie Singleton (Johnny) Duncan, all of Thomasville; three brothers, Alvin Tucker, Millry, Bly Tucker, Sweet Water, Billy Tucker, Demopolis; two sisters, Nan Davis, Sweet Water, Cawthon Tucker, Demopolis; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Alexander Singleton and husband, John Hendley Newton, one grandson, John Ray Duncan Jr. and one greatgrandson, Cole Newton.

The service was March 13 at 11 a.m. at Thomasville Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Kirkland officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Thomasville. O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Thomasville directed.

Active pallbearers were Jeff Newton, Jeff Dunnam, Gene Wiggins, Will Knight, Jake Duncan and Cy Newton.

Honorary pallbearers were The Elect Ladies Sunday School Class of Thomasville Baptist Church, Ruth Galbraith, teacher.
