Thompson

Gus Edward "Shake" Thompson, 85, of Thomasville died March 5, 2007 at his residence.

He was born May 14, 1922. He was a retired plumber. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Mattie Thompson, Memphis, Tenn.; four daughters, Mary J. Robinson, Evelyn S. Thompson, Lenora G. Peasant, Martha Thames, all of Selma; one stepson, Earnest Rowden, Selma; one stepdaughter, Valorie Taylor, Thomasville; one brother, J.D. Thompson, Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Helen Edwards, Mobile, Annie Thompson, Chicago; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; special friend, Lura M. Taylor, Thomasville.

The service was March 10 at 11 a.m. at the New Greater First Baptist Church with Rev. Carlton Hogue officiating. Burial was in the New Greater First Baptist Church Cemetery. Thomasville Memorial Funeral Home directed.
