Bulldogs beat Monroe Co.

The Clarke County High School Bulldogs found their batting stroke as they beat the visiting Tigers of Monroe County 11-1 Tuesday afternoon at Hudson Park.

Hunter Cross went 3-for-4 with a 2-run homer, a double and three RBI. Josh Watford went 2- for-3 with a double. Robert Malone went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Adrian Snell went 1-for-3 with a solo home run. Rashad Snell added an RBI. Tyler Walker was 1-for-3 with two runs scored. Danny Norris was 1-for-3.

Watford (2-1) struck out three, allowed four hits and gave up one earned run in six innings to get the win.

This past Saturday the Bulldogs dropped both ends of a double header in Mobile to St. Paul's.

In the first game CCHS lost 8- 4.

Malone went 2-for-3 with a double. Walker went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Cross was 2-for-3. Watford went 1-for-3.

Watford (1-1) took the loss. He tossed all six innings.

The Bulldogs lost 14-4 in the other game.

Norris (0-2) shouldered the loss.

Walker went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Malone was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Cross went 2-for-3. Justin Fendley went 1-for-3.

Last Friday the Bulldogs dropped their first area game of the season as they fell 4-3 to Washington County in Grove Hill.

Malone (1-3) was the hardluck loser as he gave up just five hits, while striking out six.

"We didn't hit the ball," Coach Chris Young said.

Cross went 1-for-3 with a homer. Watford and Terrance Frazier each went 1-for-3.

CCHS will host the Leopards of Mobile Christian this Thursday (today) in another key area game. Saturday they travel to Mobile to play Citronelle and Williamson in a double-dipper.
