Lady Gators down Cottage Hill

The Lady Gators of Clarke Prep School traveled to Mobile Tuesday afternoon and beat Cottage Hill 13-10 in a key area win.

CPS had a 10-3 lead before Cottage Hill made a comeback to tie it before retaking the lead for good in the seventh frame.

Katelyn Dunagan had three hits and two RBI. Anna Hicks added three hits. Corrie Allen had two hits.

Tess Ackerman got the win.

Monday afternoon the Lady Gators hosted both Patrician and Jackson Academy in a doubleheader.

They lost 7-0 to the Lady Eagles of JA in the second game.

Tess Ackerman and Corrie Allen each had a hit.

Allen took the loss.

In the other game CPS fell 4-1 to the Lady Saints of Patrician.

Katelyn Dunagan went 2-for- 3. Ackerman and Jessica McKinley each went 1-for-3.

Last Friday they traveled to Hope Hull and lost to Hooper 3- 1.

McKinley and Ackerman each had a hit. Allen added an RBI.

Ackerman took the loss but struck out six and only allowed three hits.

The Lady Gators pounded Wilcox 11-0 last Tuesday in Grove Hill.

Allen went 2-for-3 with a triple and four RBI. Ackerman was 2- for-2. McKinley added two RBI. Whitney Gavin was 1-for-1 with two RBI. Stephanie Sales went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Kay Kay Grocholl had an RBI. Hicks was 1-for-2.

Ackerman struck out 13 in getting the win.

Thursday (today) the Lady Gators head to Camden to take on Wilcox Academy. Friday they host Taylor Road. The results from these games will be in next week's Democrat.
