Yard sales benefit band uniforms

The Clarke County High School Royal Band of Blue is accepting donations of items that can be sold in yard sales that will be held each Saturday starting this Saturday at the old Chick- ADee in Grove Hill.

Proceeds will help purchase new band uniforms.

George Jones is helping the Band Booster Club promote the fundraiser and said the band will take anything of value that can be sold "even scrap iron." That includes furniture, baby beds, desks, lawn supplies such as mowers, etc.

Tax deduction certificates will be given for items of value to anyone requesting them.

All items can be dropped off at the old Chick-A-Dee in Grove Hill or at the Clarke County High School. The parking area at Chick-A-Dee will be checked throughout the day for securing all items. Pickup is available by calling 275-3164.

The yard sales will continue each Saturday until further notice and an auction will be held to conclude the promotion.

John Conner is the band director, Robin Dial is band president, Jimmy Dumas is the band's vice president and Cedora Wright is the active assistant secretary.
