Fatal accident on 84

The driver of a Billy Barnes Enterprises truck was killed when the loaded wood chip truck ran off Highway 84 and overturned between Gosport and Whatley about mid-morning Wednesday. The name of the driver was not released. The Barnes company is based in Monroeville. The cause of death or the reason for the one vehicle accident on a straight stretch of highway was not immediately known. State troopers, Clarke County sheriff's deputies, Jets Ambulance personnel and Grove Hill firefighters assisted at the scene. Photo by Jim Cox
