Washington

Henretta Washington, 89, of Gainestown died March 24, 2007 at her residence.

She was born Sept. 3, 1917. She was a native of Alma. She was born to the parentage of the late Jeff Washington and Clara Horace Washington. She was a member of the Antioch African Methodist Episcopal Church in Gainestown. She retired as a cook.

Survivors include one daughter, Savannah Hunt, Mobile; one stepson, J.W. Andrews Jr., Jackson, one step-daughter, Jessie Mae Jackson, Jackson; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 12 greatgreat grandchildren.

The service was March 31 at 12 p.m. at Antioch African Methodist Episcopal Church in Gainestown with Rev. Robert Taylor, officiating. Burial was in the Antioch African Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery. Andrews Funeral Home of Jackson directed.
