Lady Gators beat JA Lady Eagles twice

The Clarke Prep School Lady Gators dropped a close game with area foe Faith 6-4 last Thursday in Grove Hill.

Tess Ackerman went 2-for-4 with an RBI to lead the team. Haley Hill went 2-for-4. Corrie Allen was 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Jessica McKinley was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Kay Kay Grocholl and Anna Hicks each had a hit.

Last Friday the Lady Gators took both games in a doubleheader with county foe Jackson on the road.

Clarke Prep took the first game 6-4 in nine innings.

Ackerman started the game and went eight innings, allowing three hits and striking out seven. Grocholl earned the win in the final inning.

Ackerman was 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI. Allen also went 3-for-5 with a double. McKinley went 2-for-5. Stephanie Sales was 2-for-4. Grocholl was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Hill, Katelyn Dunagan and Hicks each had a hit.

In the other game CPS won 12- 3.

Again Ackerman had a hot bat and was 2-for-4 with two RBI. McKinley was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Grocholl and K. Dunagan each went 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI. Sales was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Hicks also went 1- for-3 with an RBI. Allen went 1- for-2 with two RBI. Courtney Dunagan went 1-for-4. Hill scored three runs and had an RBI.

Grocholl got the win.

The Lady Gators traveled to Monroeville Tuesday afternoon. Thursday they host South Choctaw Academy. Friday they go to Tuscaloosa to play the Lady Knights.

The results from these games will be in next week's Democrat.
