String orchestra concert slated in Grove Hill

Bay Area Strings Community Orchestra brings the sounds of classical strings to Clarke County on Thursday, April 26 at 7 p.m. at Clarke County High School's Sage Auditorium.

In an hour-long concert, the string orchestra under the direction of Scott Wright will perform a variety of traditional and contemporary works written for violin, viola, cello and bass.

The members of Bay Area Strings Community Orchestra are volunteer musicians from Mobile and Baldwin Counties who peform for audiences throughout South Alabama. The orchestra is a part of the outreach programs of Mobile Symphony and is funded in part by grants from the City of Mobile.

The Clarke County concert is open to the public free of charge, and is made possible through the generosity and support of the Community Study Club of Grove Hill, Four Seasons Garden Club of Jackson, Southern Magnolia Study Club of Grove Hill, The Thomasville Worthwhile Club, Junior Women's League of Jackson and Thomasville Research Club.
