By comparison, last year's Relay raised just over $31,000.

The event was again held on Cobb Street in front of the Clarke County Museum.

Emily Steadham, representing the local Relay committee, thanked the participants, teams, donors and others for their support.
Lighted bags lit the street for walkers and were in honor and in memo- ry of those who have battled cancer.
Roxanna Hare, with backup by her mother, Mirenda Hare, sang the National Anthem.
Kerry Reid, left, representing the American Cancer Society, presented a plaque to Emily Steadham recognizing all of Clarke County for its high per capita contributions.
