Pictures From Our Past
This is Coffeeville High School, brand new in 1939 when it was pictured in the school's yearbook. The brick structure replaced a wooden one that burned in 1937, following a fiddlers' convention. Construction started in 1938. Note there is no landscaping and no driveway. A ladder, boards and a pile of dirt would indicate that work was still being done or had just been completed. The car looks like a Chevrolet or other GMC product from the mid 1930s.
